Jeff Jamison was raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and even after a twelve year absence, he still considers it home. Jeff is the son of Dr. and Mrs. King Jamison who still reside in Murfreesboro.
After graduating Middle Tennessee State University, where he majored in fine art from 1977 to 1980 and graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 1984. He remained in South Florida and worked as an editorial illustrator for the Fort Lauderdale News and Sun Sentinel until 1990. His illustrations have won several awards on the local, state, and national levels. In 1990 Jeff was inducted into the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Hall Of Fame.
He has worked as a courtroom sketch artist in the Manuel Noriega trails in Miami, Florida and has exhibited his paintings throughout South Florida including the Norton Gallery of Fort Lauderdale, and the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art.
Jeff has recently been named one of five finalist in the national “Paint Christopher Columbus Contest.” His painting of Christopher Columbus is currently touring the U.S. and will eventually become part of the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
