Artist bio- For the past ten years, Jacqueline Debutler has been known as one of France’s leading printmakers working in engraving. Born in Compiegne, she studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Amiens and then went to Paris where she spent three years in the intense study of engraving and aquatint at the celebrated Atleier Friedlaender. Most recently, she has turned to lithography as a new means of expression and has found it quite compatible with her distinctive abstract syle of overlapping planes of color.
Art description- Autumnal colors, dominated by a sunlike disk of orange, mark this spare yet formally complex abstract lithograph. With a few overlapping hard-edged forms the artist creates complicated interrelationships, enriched by an ebossed white circle.
