Artist bio- New York-born sculpter Henry Wilson has successfully combatted a number of obstacles in his determination to fulfill an ambition dating from early childhood. His natural ability to draw had sufaced wven before he could write, but Wilson, the youngest of eight children, received little encouragement. His interest in art prevailed, however, and he gained admittance to New York’s Cooper Union, an institution which has played an important role in providing tuition-free education to promising art students.
Art description- The two small bears merge with the form of the mother to create a sculptural and symbolic entity. Fine detail is a masterfully achieved through Wilson’s admirable technique and pewter’s excellence as a medium for very precise casting.
